NALCO Officials Meet New Koraput DFO; Focus on Sustainable Mining
New Delhi: National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable mining and environmental management following a key meeting between senior officials of its Mines and Refinery (M&R) Complex and the newly appointed Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Koraput.
Shri Amarendra Kumar Mishra, Executive Director (M&R), accompanied by senior officials from the M&R Complex, paid a courtesy visit to Shri Sidharth Jain, IFS, who recently assumed charge as the DFO of Koraput.
During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to enhance coordination for the smooth functioning of NALCO's strategic operations, including the Alumina Refinery, the Panchpatmali Bauxite Mine and the Pottangi Bauxite Mines.
The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between the company and the Forest Department while ensuring effective environmental management and promoting sustainable development initiatives in the region.
NALCO's Panchpatmali mines and refinery operations are among the key assets supporting the company's alumina and aluminium production. Close coordination with local authorities and environmental agencies plays an important role in maintaining efficient operations while adhering to sustainability goals.
