NTPC CMHQ organized a training program on Mining Equipment and its Safety features
Product support group of Eastern Region Durgapur, under the Construction and Mining Machinery division of Larsen & Toubro Ltd, conducted the virtual training program on HD785-7 model 100T haul trucks operated in the NTPC mine at Pakri Barwadih.
New Delhi: Shri Partha Mazumder, Regional Executive Director (Coal Mining) inaugurated the session and emphasized that Safety is an integral part of our core values and we at NTPC are committed to ensure safety of employees, workers and equipment engaged by NTPC or engaged by our contractors. All the coal blocks allocated to NTPC have been designed to be executed by a highly mechanized open cast method and hence “equipment safety” plays an utmost importance to us.
Shri Suprio Chakraborty, Director of Mines Safety, Ranchi region, also graced the inaugural session and emphasized the need of more such training programs to be conducted by Mine owner and MDO to enhance the knowledge and skill of employees involved in operation and maintenance of equipment and thereby improving the overall safety of Mines.

During training information was shared on mining equipment and its safety features by L&T will help our team to better understand the equipment and its safety features and ensure better monitoring and compliances during the operation and maintenance as required under statutory provisions.
Around 50 participants from all 3 operating coal mining projects i.e Pakri Barwadih, Dulanga and Talaipalli attended the training session.
