NTPC Kaniha secured two distinguished awards recognizing its exemplary commitment to environmental management and sustainability.
The station proudly received the Kalinga Environment Excellence National Award – 2024 in the Five Star Category (the highest recognition) at the 10th National Conclave on Environment, Energy and Climate Change (EECC) 2025. The event was held in Bhubaneswar on 21st June 2025 for its remarkable performance in the field of Environment Management and mitigation measures for pollution abatement.

The award ceremony was sponsored by the Odisha State Pollution Control Board (Government of Odisha), Odisha State Productivity Council, and the Institute of Public Enterprise, Hyderabad.
The award was received by Shri K. Narasimha Reddy, Executive Director & Head of Plant (NTPC Kaniha), in the presence of distinguished dignitaries including H.E. Prof. Joyce Kakuramatsi Kikafunda, High Commissioner of the Republic of Uganda; Smt. Uma Nanduri, IFS, Member Secretary, State Pollution Control Board & PCCF Kendu Leaf, Government of Odisha; and Shri Ashok Kumar Tripathy, IAS (Retd), President of Odisha State Productivity Council.

This prestigious recognition was presented during the Green Enviro Environment Award and Summit, held on 19th June 2025 in Lonavala. The ceremony was graced by Shri Suresh Prabhu, Former Union Minister and current Chairman of the Indian Chamber of Food and Agriculture (ICFA). On behalf of NTPC Talcher Kaniha, this award was received by Rabi Shankar Verma, SR. Manager (EMG) and AL Mohammad Idris KS, SR. Manager (Ash Utilization)
