TPC Kerandari Coal Mining Project Begins Opencast Technique Operations
NEW DELHI- The mining operations of NTPC Kerandari Coal Mining Project started successfully on 5th April, 2023 in the presence of Chief Guest Shri Manoj Ratan Chothe IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police and Shri Partha Mazumder, Regional Executive Director of NTPC Coal Mining.
Coal mining work in NTPC Kerandari will be done by the opencast mining technique. The mine will have a peak production capacity of 6 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).

The villagers celebrated the mine opening ceremony by playing drums and music. About 2500 people enthusiastically participated in the Mine opening ceremony.
Chief Guest Shri Manoj Ratan Chothe said that the start of mining work in Kerandari will change the picture of this area, employment opportunities will increase, and students will also get various training.
