NTPC to lay foundation stone of 1,600 MW project in MP

BHOPAL. NTPC will lay the foundation stone of its 1,600 MW Gadarwara plant, that entails an investment of nearly Rs 11,000 crore, in Madhya Pradesh this week.

The project, located in Narsingpur district, would have two super critical units, each with 800 MW capacity. State-owned NTPC said foundation stone for the plant is scheduled to be laid on February 19.

"An investment of approximately Rs 11,000 crore has already been approved by NTPC for setting up the project and it is targeted to be commissioned in the 13th Plan period (2017-22)," the company said in a statement. BUSINESS STANDARD
