RailTel Goes Global: Massive ₹19.8 Crore Data Centre Order Secured in Africa!

New Delhi:  RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. has announced that it has secured a major international project from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), marking another significant milestone in the company’s global expansion.

In a regulatory filing submitted to the stock exchanges on December 26, 2025, the company informed investors that it has received a formal Work Order from the Ministry of External Affairs for providing Project Implementation Services to establish a Data Centre inside the existing building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in Addis Ababa.

This international project, valued at ₹19.83 crore, is scheduled to be completed by December 25, 2029. The contract reflects RailTel’s growing expertise in executing large-scale digital infrastructure projects beyond Indian borders.

The company clarified that the order has been awarded by an international entity and that the nature of the contract is strictly project-based. RailTel also confirmed that neither the promoters nor any group companies have any interest in the awarding entity, and the transaction does not fall under related party transactions.

The work order was received on December 26, 2025 at 5:30 PM, and the disclosure has been made in compliance with SEBI regulations. The company stated that the information was shared promptly with stock exchanges after obtaining internal approvals.

This project strengthens RailTel’s international presence and highlights India’s growing role in supporting digital infrastructure development in partner nations. Investors and market participants are expected to view this development positively, as it adds to RailTel’s long-term revenue visibility and global reputation.
