WCL Director Technical-Operations Shri A.K. Singh retires from him position

New Delhi: Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) gave an emotional farewell on 31.07.2025 on the retirement of Director Technical (Operations). After the welcome in the program organized in the Welfare Hall of WCL Headquarters, Director Technical (Operations) Shri AK Singh thanked everyone for their cooperation during his service period of more than three decades in Coal India Limited. He spoke in detail about the changes in the coal industry. He said that success is definitely achieved by working continuously while remaining committed to one's goal. He described duty and punctuality as the essential mantra for success in work.

Chairman cum Managing Director Shri JP Dwivedi gave a warm farewell to Shri AK Mentioning about Singh's modesty, sociability, cordiality, diligence, inspirational leadership, managerial skills, use of latest technology, logical suggestions in meetings for resolving problems faced by the company and quick decision making ability, etc., he shared his experience of working with him with everyone. He said that Shri AK Singh has made a significant contribution in achieving the lead in coal production, OBR and dispatch in WCL. Shri Dwivedi wished him and his family a happy future after his retirement.

Shri Anandji Prasad, Director Technical (Planning & Projects), took over additional charge of Director Technical (Operations) on 01.08.2025.

Shri AK On the retirement of Shri Anandji Prasad, Director Technical (Planning & Projects), Shri Anandji Prasad took over the additional charge of Director Technical (Operations) on 01.08.2025. Shri Anandji Prasad has been working as Director Technical, WCL from 21.01.2025. Shri Prasad has rich experience of more than 36 years in the coal mining industry.

After completing his graduation in Mining Engineering from IIT- Kharagpur in the year 1989, he started his career in Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Limited (CMPDI), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, in the same year. Shri Prasad has diverse experience in planning, design of coal and metallurgical mines as well as coal mine operations and management and has played a key role in the formulation of many policies, roadmaps, vision documents for Coal India and Ministry of Coal.
