Noida International Airport: How it will transform core Civil Aviation System with short travel time period access

New Delhi: In order to boost the travel time and civil aviation structure, the Uttar Pradesh Government has proposed an outlay of Rs 2,111 crore for the civil aviation sector in the 2026-27 Budget, which will boost the upcoming Noida International Airport, according to the official statement released after the Budget session. The total allocation of Rs 750 crore has been allotted for the development of the Noida International Airport in Jewar Area of Gautam Buddha Nagar district where the first phase of the airport is being developed in Public-Private partnership mode.

The state government has decided to expand the project from the initially planned two runways to five runways and according to the official statement, the government is working to develop Jewar as an aviation innovation and research centers along with the maintenance and operations hub. In addition to this a separate amount of Rs 1,100 crore has been proposed and allotted for construction, expansion, and fostering of airstrips across the state and for land acquisition. According to the government, it will continue to enhance air connectivity under the Centre’s Regional Connectivity Scheme, which is supported by Civil Aviation Promotion Policy, 2017. The Noida Airport is almost completed and will be inaugurated soon, as per the CM Yogi Adityanath.

How it will impact civil structure and other transport system:

The Air-Taxi Service will likely to transform mobility in the Delhi-NCR while reducing nearly 100 km journeys from hours to just 30 minutes and in the latest report by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), it has assessed the feasibility of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) by modelling a hypothetical 65-75 Km corridor linking Gurugram, Connaught Place, and the recent developed Noida International Airport.

The remarkable pilot corridor which will connect Gurugram, Connaught Place, and Jewar International Airport can establish a suitable and accessible infrastructure position for Advanced Air Mobility. This will offer a high-resolution initiative to compete against congestion and traffic hinderance while slashing the time from hours to minutes for the ease of the commutation.
