BSES plans to launch mobile app for power supply transparency
NEW DELHI. power distribution companies are adopting transparency tools to manage electricity supply. Reliance Power-owned BSES discoms plan to launch a mobile application for its consumers to view consumption, bill details, status of new connection etc.
With this, BSES will become the first in the city and among handful of power utilities in the world to launch a mobile application. The new tool would make it easier for consumers to access important information and services related to their electricity accounts.
The app launched by BSES would enable consumers to also lodge ‘no supply’ complaints.
It would also help the consumers view their consumption history, bills details (current and last five), status of a new connection and also get energy saving tips.
Executives in BSES said fully equipped mobile app would be functional before the summers of 2015. Delhi has a peak demand of 5,000 to 6,000 mw during the summer months of June to September, leading to load shedding in parts of the city.BUSINESS STANDARD
