NHPC CMD reviewed ongoing restoration works at 510 MW NHPC Teesta-V Power Station
The project had been badly affected by the flood that occurred during the intervening night of 3rd and 4th October 2023 due to the breach of Lhonak Lake in North Sikkim, and subsequently by a landslide over the TRT outlet in October 2024.
New Delhi: Shri Bhupender Gupta, CMD, NHPC along with Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, Director (Projects) and Shri Supraksh Adhikari, Director (Technical) visited the 510 MW NHPC Teesta-V Power Station from 2nd to 4th November 2025 to review the ongoing restoration works.

Shri Jitendra Kumar, Executive Director and Head of Project, Teesta-V Power Station, briefed CMD in detail about the restoration activities being carried out. Shri Anil Kumar Dash, Executive Director, Siliguri Region and Shri Umesh Kumar Nand, Executive Director, PMSG, were also present during the site visit.

CMD, NHPC expressed satisfaction with the progress of works being executed on a war footing at various fronts. Later, he reviewed the balance works with officials of Teesta-V Power Station and NHPC Corporate Office team and asked everyone to put in their best efforts to bring this flagship power station into operation by the end of FY 2025–26.
