The Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) announced Vacancy Notice No. 59/2025 on November 26, 2025, for a specialized recruitment drive concerning the Haj 2026 Mission. This initiative, executed under the direction of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), seeks to depute Doctors and Paramedics (Gazetted Officer Only) to provide essential medical services to pilgrims. The application process is strictly online, and applicants must submit their digitally signed forms through the official MoHFW Haj Deputation Portal by the closing date of December 5, 2025. There is no requirement for physical submissions.

The deputation comes with stringent eligibility criteria and mandatory health requirements. Nominees must be serving Muslim permanent employees in good health, with an age limit of 25-55 years for Doctors and 25-45 years for Paramedics. Crucially, pregnant females are not eligible, nor are employees currently under probation or those who have already participated in the mission three or more times (barring specialists).

All selected personnel must undergo a comprehensive medical examination and mandatory vaccinations to meet the fitness requirements stipulated by the Haj Healthcare Card 2026 and Saudi Arabian authorities. The deployment will be under the Consulate General of India (CGI), Jeddah, with personnel stationed across various health facilities in Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah, Mina, and Arafat. While benefits include basic pay, HRA, foreign allowance, and to-and-fro economy class air tickets, deputationists are strictly not allowed to bring family members (parents, spouses, or children) at government expense. A failure to diligently discharge duties or any lapse in care will result in immediate repatriation and strict disciplinary action, including the potential recovery of incurred government expenditure.
