K Satyanarayana Raju Completes Tenure as MD CEO of Canara Bank
NEW DELHI: Shri K Satyanarayana Raju, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Canara Bank, retired today, 31 December 2025, on attaining the age of superannuation, bringing to a close an illustrious career in Indian banking that spanned over three decades.
The development was formally communicated to the stock exchanges under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations, 2015, in accordance with the notification issued by the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, Government of India.
Shri Raju took charge as MD & CEO of Canara Bank on 7 February 2023 and during his tenure provided steady leadership through a period of major transformation in the banking sector. Under his guidance, the bank strengthened its digital banking framework, expanded financial inclusion initiatives, improved operational efficiency and reinforced governance and compliance standards.
An accomplished banking professional, Shri Raju began his career in 1988 with the erstwhile Vijaya Bank and rose to the level of Chief General Manager at Bank of Baroda after its amalgamation. Over the years, he held several key positions including heading corporate banking branches, serving as Regional Head in multiple zones, Zonal Head of Mumbai Zone, and leading operations and services at the head office.
After joining Canara Bank as Executive Director in March 2021, he oversaw critical business verticals including digital banking, information technology, compliance, inspection, MSME, retail assets, corporate credit, financial inclusion, marketing and public relations, contributing significantly to the bank’s growth and modernization.
His retirement marks the conclusion of a highly respected leadership journey. Colleagues and industry leaders widely acknowledge his contribution in strengthening one of India’s largest public sector banks and shaping the future of Indian banking.
