According to an Office Memorandum issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the Competent Authority has sanctioned the continuation of her deputation beyond 31 December 2025 and up to 10 August 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Ms. Garg began her central deputation on 11 August 2025, and the extension follows a proposal from the Office of the Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India (RGI), dated 10 December 2025.

The order, signed by Ms. Annies Kanmani Joy, Deputy Secretary, formalizes the continuity of her role under the Central Staffing Scheme, enabling administrative stability in ongoing census-related and demographic responsibilities in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
