Coal India Limited Chairman Shri B. Sairam Arrives for 3-Day Visit to SECL

New Delhi: Coal India Limited (CIL) Chairman Shri B. Sairam arrived at SECL today, April 3, for a three-day visit. Upon his arrival at the Raipur airport, he was warmly welcomed and greeted with a bouquet by SECL CMD Shri Harish Duhan.

During this visit, Shri Sairam will review the operational activities across SECL’s mega projects and various sectors. Additionally, he will observe activities related to production, safety, and development.

Professional Profile of Shri B. Sairam

Shri B. Sairam assumed charge as the Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Coal India Limited on December 15, 2025. Prior to this, he served as the CMD of Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL).

With over three and a half decades of experience, Shri Sairam holds a degree in Mining Engineering from NIT Raipur and an MBA in Energy Management from the NTPC School of Business. He possesses extensive expertise in mining operations, planning, logistics, and regulatory affairs, and has conducted international studies on the ‘Just Energy Transition’.

Under his leadership at CIL, Shri Sairam has placed a special emphasis on solar energy, coal gasification, and sustainable mining, alongside improvements in production and quality. His vast experience and decisive leadership are playing a crucial role in providing a new direction to Coal India Limited.
