Suzlon Secures 195 MW Order from Sunsure Energy, 3 MW Platform Sales Near 9 GW

Mumbai:  Suzlon Energy Limited has secured a repeat order of 195 MW from Sunsure Energy, taking cumulative sales of its highly successful 3 MW wind turbine platform close to 9 GW. The latest order further strengthens Suzlon’s leadership in India’s renewable energy sector and reinforces its growing partnership with Sunsure Energy.

The new project will be executed in the Bijapur district of Karnataka and involves the supply of 65 state-of-the-art S144 wind turbine generators (WTGs), each with a rated capacity of 3.0 MW. Suzlon will oversee the complete project execution, including supply, erection, commissioning, and long-term operations and maintenance services.

The partnership between Suzlon and Sunsure Energy has now reached nearly 300 MW across Maharashtra and Karnataka, reflecting growing demand for reliable renewable energy solutions in the commercial and industrial (C&I) segment.

 

Karnataka Emerges as a Key Market for Suzlon

With this latest order, Suzlon’s orderbook in Karnataka has crossed the significant 2 GW milestone, making the state one of the company’s strongest renewable energy markets. Suzlon currently has an installed base of approximately 1,500 MW in Karnataka, accounting for nearly 24% of its installed base in South India.

The company is also executing several other large-scale C&I renewable energy projects in Karnataka, with a combined capacity of 664 MW.

 

 

Strong Demand for Suzlon’s S144 Platform

Suzlon’s S144 wind turbine platform has emerged as the company’s most successful product line, securing more than 2.4 GW of orders in FY26 alone. The platform continues to witness strong market adoption due to its efficiency, reliability, and suitability for India’s evolving renewable energy requirements.

Girish Tanti, Executive Vice Chairman, Suzlon Group, said India’s increasing focus on renewable energy and energy security is accelerating demand for advanced wind solutions. He highlighted that the company’s 3 MW platform has become a major growth driver for Suzlon and emphasized Karnataka’s importance as a strategic market alongside Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra.

 

Sunsure Energy Expands RTC Renewable Energy Portfolio

Sunsure Energy stated that the partnership with Suzlon aligns with its strategy to build reliable round-the-clock renewable energy infrastructure for industries, electric mobility, AI-driven infrastructure, and data centres.

Shashank Sharma, CEO of Sunsure Energy, noted that renewable energy infrastructure must deliver dependable power beyond intermittent generation and that Suzlon’s proven project execution capabilities and strong lifecycle maintenance support make it an ideal long-term partner.

Founded in 2014, Sunsure Energy is one of India’s leading round-the-clock renewable energy solution providers. The company currently operates 700 MW of renewable assets and has over 7 GW under development across multiple Indian states. It aims to achieve 10 GW operational capacity by 2030.
