Cochin Shipyard Invests in Maritech Integrated Maritime Under USHUS Startup Programme
Kochi: Cochin Shipyard Ltd. (CSL) has signed an agreement with Maritech Integrated Maritime Pvt. Ltd. to acquire a 5% equity stake under CSL’s flagship USHUS Startup Programme. The strategic investment highlights CSL’s continued commitment to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, indigenisation, and digital transformation across India’s maritime industry.
The collaboration is expected to accelerate the development of technology-driven maritime solutions while strengthening operational efficiency throughout the maritime value chain. By supporting emerging startups, CSL aims to create a future-ready maritime ecosystem aligned with India’s growing ambitions in the global shipping and shipbuilding sectors.
Maritech Integrated Maritime Pvt. Ltd. is focused on delivering integrated maritime technology solutions designed to modernize industry operations and improve efficiency through digital innovation. The investment from CSL will provide the startup with strategic support and industry collaboration opportunities to scale its capabilities.
As part of the USHUS Startup Programme, Cochin Shipyard has earmarked a corpus fund of ₹50 crore dedicated to supporting startups and innovative ventures in the maritime sector. The initiative is being implemented in partnership with IIMK LIVE, the business incubator of the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode, and IIT Madras.
Industry experts view the investment as a significant step toward promoting indigenous maritime technologies and strengthening India’s position as a hub for maritime innovation. The programme also aligns with the Government of India’s broader focus on self-reliance, technology development, and startup-led industrial growth.
