IPS Sonali Mishra replaced Manoj Yadava, an IPS Officer of the 1988 batch, to hold the Director General post in the Railway Protection Force.

IPS Sonali Mishra selected as First Woman Director General of Railway Protection Force
Ms. Sonali Mishra has been appointed to the post of Director General of the Railways Protection Force of the Railway Board with pay at Level-16 of the pay matrix. The tenure of the appointment is up to her superannuation on 31.10.2026 from the date of assumption of charge or until further orders. She is a seasoned IPS Officer of 1993 batch of Madhya Pradesh cadre.
She has replaced Shri Manoj Yadava, an IPS Officer of the 1988 batch, who has completed his tenure on 31.07.2025.

She has been renowned to be as First woman Director General of RPF. She has extensive experience in paramilitary forces and previously served as Additional Director General in the Border Security Force. The appointment is a key milestone in achieving gender equality in the top national bureaucracy.
