Railway Board Appoints Shri Prashant Kumar Verma as New PED/S&T at RDSO
Indian Railways appoints Shri Prashant Kumar Verma as the new Principal Executive Director (S&T) at RDSO, succeeding Suresh Kumar Verma after his superannuation.

The Ministry of Railways has approved an important senior-level appointment within the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO). Shri Prashant Kumar Verma, HAG/IRSSE, who is currently the Principal Executive Director (S&T-II) at RDSO Lucknow, has been chosen to become the new Principal Executive Director (Signal & Telecommunications) at RDSO.
He will take on this role after Shri Suresh Kumar Verma retires on 30 November 2025, as stated in the official Railway Board communication from 28 November 2025. The Board has also asked RDSO to confirm the dates for when the outgoing and incoming officers will hand over and take charge.
Shri Prashant Kumar Verma, a senior officer of the Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers (IRSSE), has worked on many major technology, telecom, and signaling projects throughout his career. As the new PED/S&T, he will be responsible for guiding essential research, standards, and technological development for railway signaling systems across India.
This communication has been shared with senior officials, including the offices of the Hon’ble Minister of Railways, Ministers of State, senior Railway Board members, audit authorities, staff associations, and various related administrative units.
This appointment reflects Indian Railways' ongoing commitment to strengthening technological leadership at RDSO. The organization plays a key role in innovation, safety standards, and technical excellence throughout the railway network.
