Union Secretary Saurabh Garg gets one-year extension
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved a one-year extension for Saurabh Garg as Secretary, Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation. He will also continue as Secretary to the National Statistical Commission.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved extension of tenure of Saurabh Garg as Secretary, Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation on contract basis for a further period of one year beyond 31 07.2025 i.e. up to 31 .07.2026.

He is a retired IAS officer of 1991-batch of Orissa cadre.
The officer will also discharge the functions of Secretary to National Statistical Commission.
