NTPC Bongaigaon Organises Comprehensive Session on Child Mental Health for GEM Students
NTPC Bongaigaon hosts child mental health session under GEM 2025 to boost emotional well-being of girl participants.

NTPC Bongaigaon, under its flagship Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) 2025, recently organised a comprehensive awareness session on child mental health, focusing on nurturing emotional well-being and promoting positive mental health outcomes among young participants.

The interactive session covered key aspects such as Understanding Emotional Intelligence, where students were guided on the importance of recognising and managing emotions effectively. Experts also introduced Coping Mechanisms to help the girls tackle stress and anxiety, equipping them with practical strategies to navigate challenges confidently.

The session was organised by Ms. Udangshri Basumatary, Clinical Pyschologist, KMCH, Kokrajharin association with Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club and Medical Cell of the power station. Smt. Kasturi Maitra, President of the Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club and ladies club members were also present on the occasion to encourage and bless the children.

Emphasis was placed on the power of Positive Self-Talk and affirmations, encouraging students to cultivate self-esteem and belief in their own abilities. The session also highlighted the vital role of Support Systems — family members, peers, and educators — in creating an environment that supports mental health and emotional growth.Various team exercises were also carried out among the children to engage them and build their confidence.

Through such initiatives, NTPC Bongaigaon continues to foster holistic development for GEM students, helping them build resilience and empowering them to face the world with confidence and optimism.
