Mega Mock Drill exercise at IndianOil Northern Regional Office
New Delhi: The main objective of disaster management is to always be ready to deal with any emergency situation and this objective can be achieved only through regular practice.
Moving in this direction, to review the preparations for dealing with a natural disaster like earthquake, a Mega Mock Drill was practised in IndianOil Northern Regional Office under leadership of DDMA (District Disaster Management Authority), South wherein various departments like Delhi Police, Medical Officers, Ambulance, National Civil Defence, Fire Service, Delhi Home Guard, Delhi Jal Board etc. took part.
The landscape was a collapse and a fire in IndianOil Bhawan. Many activities like safe removal of earthquake victims and others arising due to building collapse and fire were also practised in the drill.
Different fire and safety devices, such as fire hydrant line, fire alarm system etc. installed in the IndianOil Building were used in the Mock Drill. Presence of all fire and safety devices in fully operational condition show the preparedness of IndianOil to deal with any serious situation.
Drill was very successful. Along with alerting everyone about the challenging conditions arising out of the fire and collapse of the building, people were also made aware of various steps taken in such critical situations.
Review of Drill was done by Shri Ranbir Singh (ACP), Delhi in presence of Shri V.K. Verma, General Manager (HSE), IndianOil and Shri Uma Shankar, General Manager (A & W).
