Infrastructure Expansion:
Fixed-asset investment in the transport sector is anticipated to reach 3.6 trillion yuan (~$510 billion). China plans to add over 2,000 km of high-speed railways and around 8,000 km of expressways, further strengthening the country’s transport network. Currently, urban rail transit in 54 cities spans over 11,000 km, serving an average of 90 million passengers daily.

Digital Transformation and Technology:
China has completed the digital upgrade of approximately 1,700 km of expressways and more than 2,200 auxiliary highway and waterway facilities. 60 automated cargo terminals have been built, and the domestically developed C919 aircraft has safely carried over 3 million passengers. The ministry has also launched work on an integrated transportation AI model to improve efficiency and service quality.

Tourism and Consumption Initiatives:
To boost domestic consumption, the ministry is promoting yacht-related industries, cruise transport, and self-driving tours. Highway facilities will be improved, with new cross-regional routes developed to enhance the travel experience for tourists and travelers.
