US Extends Duty-Free Access for Israeli Farm Products Till December 31, 2026
New Delhi: The United States has decided to extend duty-free access for certain agricultural products imported from Israel until December 31, 2026. The decision follows a series of annual extensions that began after the original agreement was signed between the two countries in 1985 and updated in 2004. This extension allows specified quantities of Israeli farm products to continue entering the US without import duties through the end of next year.
The extension comes as both nations work on permanent modifications to their existing agricultural trade agreement. Until those changes are finalized, the current duty-free access remains in place.
In addition to extending the Israeli agreement, the latest update also includes technical corrections to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States. These corrections affect rules and references related to other trade agreements, including those with Singapore, South Korea, the European Union, and some African countries.
Details on the specific duty-free quotas for Israeli products and the technical changes to tariff codes are outlined in the accompanying annexes. The changes take effect on the dates specified in those annexes.
