HPCL Partners with Lummus Technology to Globalize HP-NTO Innovation

New Delhi: State-owned Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) has entered into a strategic partnership with Lummus Technology, USA, to globally commercialize its indigenously developed and patented Naphtha to Olefins (HP-NTO) technology.
The agreement was signed at HPCL’s Corporate Office, Mumbai, in the presence of senior leadership from both organizations.

The collaboration is a part of Research and Development, which will act as a catalyst for the company to deliver the best partnership with Lummus’ global licensing expertise to offer an energy-efficient alternative for olefin production in comparison to the Naphtha Cracker.
The novel HP-NTO process enables conversion of naphtha into high-value olefins like ethylene and propylene ata lower temperature.
