Jewar International Airport soon to commence operation
Meanwhile, the overseeing body of the project, Noida International Airport Limited, announced that long-distance flights will be implemented starting April 25.

The International Airport at Jewar is almost complete with construction progress exceeding 75%. It is expected that the airport will begin operations soon, most likely during the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The construction of both the runways and the crucial Air Traffic Control (ATC) infrastructure has been completed, indicating a strong possibility of the airport being operational within the next two or three months.

According to provisional data, the construction of the terminal building is almost complete, and two radars will be installed in July, which will facilitate radar-assisted flights. Furthermore, it is added that the next phase of construction is expected to commence soon.

Once completed, it will be an alternative to Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi by relieving its high and rising traffic load and is planned to be India's and Asia's largest airport. The Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL) will be the implementing agency on behalf of the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The airport is to be developed through a public-private partnership model (PPP). In 2019, Flughafen Zürich AG, the operator of Zurich Airport in Switzerland won the bid to build and operate the airport for 40 years.
