New delhi:  Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL) has announced the appointment of Shri S.G. Venkatesh as Director (Technical) on its Board, effective from the afternoon of January 5, 2026. The appointment has been made in accordance with the approval of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) and disclosed under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Regulations.

Shri S.G. Venkatesh brings over 31 years of experience in the petroleum and petrochemical industry. Prior to joining CPCL, he served as Executive Director (Petrochemicals) at Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), where he was responsible for leading the company’s entire petrochemical business, driving revenue growth and shaping long-term strategy.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kerala and has extensive expertise in refinery operations, process optimization, petrochemical manufacturing and plant design. His professional background includes leadership in refinery production planning, execution of grassroot and revamp projects, and advanced process simulations using tools such as Pro-II, Aspen Plus and HYSYS.

CPCL confirmed that Shri Venkatesh is not debarred from holding the office of Director by any regulatory authority and is not related to any member of the Board.

The company stated that his appointment is expected to strengthen CPCL’s technical leadership and support its strategic growth in refining and petrochemical operations.
