Coal India Appoints Rajiva Kumar Singh as Executive Director (Exploration)

Coal India Limited (CIL), a Maharatna company and the largest coal producer in India, announced the appointment of Shri Rajiva Kumar Singh as Executive Director (Exploration), effective from 29 December 2025. He assumes a position one level below the Board of Directors, bringing his extensive expertise to bolster the company’s geological exploration and resource evaluation efforts.

 

Shri Singh, a senior geologist, boasts over three decades of experience in geological exploration and resource assessment. An alumnus of Science College, Patna, and Patna University, he holds a B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. in Geology.

Over the past ten years, Shri Singh has held key leadership roles at CMPDIL and served as the Nodal Officer to the Ministry of Coal for promotional and detailed exploration projects. His appointment is expected to strengthen Coal India’s exploration capabilities, support strategic resource planning, and enhance the company’s contribution to India’s energy security.


CIL’s official statement emphasized that Shri Singh’s promotion reflects the company’s commitment to leveraging experienced professionals in leadership positions to drive operational excellence and sustainable growth.
