According to the sources, employees' salaries will rise if the government announces an increase in the fitment factor.
7th Pay Commission: Second DA Expected to Announce in August
New Delhi: Central Government employees can expect the second Dearness Allowance (DA) hike of the year according to the reports. It is expected that DA can be increased by 4 percent to 6 percent in August.
However the current DA figure is 34 percent, it can be increased to 38 percent. According to the sources, employees' salaries will rise if the government announces an increase in the fitment factor. Currently, they are receiving salaries based on a fitment factor of 2.57 percent.
Earlier the Central government announced a hike in DA by 3% from 31% to 34%. which was effective from January 1, 2022. According to the sources a meeting is likely to be held with the Cabinet Secretary again in August, further details have not been decided yet.
This decision will be effective for 47 lakh employees and 68 lakh pensioners because it is the major part of the salary/pension. It will reflect the major salary, currently the benefits to the central employees with minimum basic salary available at Rs 6,120 per month on the basic salary of Rs 18,000, which will increase to Rs 7,200 per month.
