New Delhi: Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Tuesday said that Air India is going to airlift 10,636 oxygen concentrators manufactured by Philips from various countries to India. Minister took Twitter to announce this. The announcement came at a time when the country is suffering from an acute shortage of Oxygen and thousands of people have died due to Oxygen unavailability.

 

"Air India is airlifting 10,636 oxygen concentrators manufactured by Philips. 636 (concentrators) already flown in from the US. Consignments flying in every day. Will be completed within this week," Minister wrote on Twitter.

 

On Sunday, the Indian Air Force (IAF) airlifted Oxygen tankers from Singapore to India to meet the medical Oxygen requirement to save critically ill COVID patients. IAF also brought 4 Cryogenic Oxygen Containers From Singapore.
