AAI Rupsi Ready for commercial operations
Rupsi, Assam: Bringing Northeast India closer, AAI's Rupsi Airport is ready to start commercial operations after receiving a license from DGCA. Nation's newest in RCS route, Rupsi Airport will be directly connected to Guwahati & Kolkata and has been redeveloped for ?69 cr.
Spread across 337 acres, the newly developed airport has a terminal building measuring 3,500 sqm. Equipped with 10 check-in counters, the terminal is designed to manage about 200 passengers during peak hrs. The newly built runway will be suitable for landing ATR-72 type aircraft.
With a parking capacity of 100 cars, the airport will have sustainable features like rainwater harvesting & solid waste mgmt system. The project work includes the construction of ATC tower, security hut & airside facilities like strengthening & recarpeting of runway, taxiway & apron.
