BEML, Coal India signed prestigious contract worth around Rs 118 Cr

New Delhi: Bharat Earth Movers Limited now known as BEML, an Indian Public Sector Undertaking signed the prestigious contract with an Indian government-owned coal mining, Coal India Limited on April 18, 2022 for supply of 1 no. 20 CuM Rope Shovel valuing Rs 118 Crores.

The contract was signed in the presence of Shri B Veera Reddy, Director(Tech), CIL, Kolkata. This being indigenously developed for the 1st time under Atmanirbhar Bharat by BEML.

This 20 Cu. M Electric Rope Shovel is designed and developed indigenously by BEML under ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’. This project would not only enable the Country to achieve self-reliance in this class of product but also save huge outgoing foreign exchange. 

The Shovel is powered by all electric powertrain that will not lead to any carbon footprints on the environment. The design of this green energy machine conforms with global standardsin safety, operator comfort and low maintenance.

This mega equipment features advanced IGBT based AC drivesintegrated with predictive maintenance, production monitoring system, safety red linelighting system for the proximity of Dumpersand remote monitoring.
