NEW DELHI- BHEL participated in the G20 International Seminar organised under the framework of G20 Presidency of India by NITI Aayog, DAE & NTPC on ‘The Role of Small Modular Reactors (SMR) in the Energy Transition’.
Dr. Nalin Shinghal, CMD, BHEL along with Mr. Jai Prakash Srivastava, Director (E, R&D) & Director (Finance) - Addl. Charge and other senior officials of the company participated in the seminar and highlighted BHEL’s contribution to the Nuclear Programme of India.

He also spoke about the key parameters that will define the choice of SMR technology for adoption in the country and the associated challenges therewith.
Dr. Shinghal highlighted BHEL’s role as the only Indian company to be actively associated with all the three stages of the Indian Nuclear Programme and the company’s capability to design, engineer, manufacture, and supply equipment for Nuclear Power Plants. In his address, CMD BHEL also invited global OEMs to partner with BHEL for manufacturing SMRs in India.
