New Delhi: Towards strengthening the security department training, WCL today signed a historic MoU with the Directorate of Civil Defense, Maharashtra State in Mumbai on 15th May 2024.

In this agreement signed under the guidance of Coal Secretary, Ministry of Coal, Government of India, Principal Secretary of Maharashtra, Planetary Special Shri A.K Singh, ADGP (IAS) and Shri Vinayak regarding security, law and order measures. Chavan, Deputy Secretary (Home Special 8) along with Lt. Commander Vikrant Malhan, Chief Security Officer, WCL held a formal meeting and talks. He also informed the officials about the activities done by WCL from the point of view of national energy source and security.

Under this agreement, senior security personnel of WCL will be provided coordination training in the urban units of Mumbai and Pune of Maharashtra State for a fixed period under the aegis of Directorate of Civil Defense, Government of Maharashtra. Also, WCL has been implemented as an Important Civil Defense Establishment (VICDU) of Maharashtra State, so that in case of any natural disaster or national emergency in the state in future, the security personnel working here will be able to make valuable contribution towards the country and the state.

Take this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) from WCL. Commander Vikrant Malhan, Chief Security Officer and Director Civil Protection Directorate, Maharashtra State ADGP Shri Prabhat Kumar, IAS in a grand ceremony. Mrs. Rajeshwari Kori, Commander and Senior Staff Officer (Training) and Mr. Sangde, Senior Staff Officer (O&S) and Mr. Vijay Jadhav, Senior Staff Officer (Industry) were present as special guests in the function and to give results to the entire process.
