Braithwaite & Company got Miniratna Category-I status; can be merged with RITES
A large number of media colleagues, as well as officers and employees of Braithwaite, were present on the occasion.
NEW DELHI - Braithwaite & Company Limited, which has been on the path of progress for the last three years, has now got Miniratna Category-I status from the Ministry of Railways, Government of India.
A press meet was held in Kolkata on Thursday, which was addressed by Mr. Yatish Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director of Braithwaite, and Mr. Kalyan Kumar Coari, Director (Finance). A large number of media colleagues, as well as officers and employees of Braithwaite, were present on the occasion.
Braithwaite was established in 1913 as an Indian subsidiary of Braithwaite & Company Engineers Limited (UK) to build structural steelworks. Meanwhile, on February 28, 1930, the company was incorporated in then Bengal as Braithwaite & Company (India) Limited.
The government of India has also plans to merge Railway PSU Braithwaite & Co with Rail India Technical and Economic Services (RITES).
