CGEWHO Touches a New Height of Excellent Performance
Central Government Employees Welfare Housing Organization (CGEWHO) has touched a height of success with its expertise and great endeavour. Till date, CGEWHO has completed construction of 33 projects with14,542 houses at 33 locations across the country. Besides, 3 projects are under construction. On completion of these projects, 3,274 more houses will be available for applicants. This was informed by Shri Bhupinder Singh, Chief Executive officer, CGEWHO while talking to PSU Connect.
He said, “We have achieved a turnover of Rs 140 Cr during the year 2016-17 as compared to Rs 98 Cr during the year 2015-16 and have ambitiously defined for increasing our turn over to Rs 256 Cr in the year 2017-18. It would be our endeavour to sustain the momentum to get our unfulfilled tasks.”
Shri Singh Said, “We are now gearing up to play a wider role in implementing the housing policies of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. CGEWHO is also participating in the Housing for All Mission under Credit Linked Saving Scheme being implemented in CGEWHO projects wherein a maximum subsidy of Rs 2.67 lakh is provided to beneficiaries whose income is up to Rs 3 Lacs/6 Lacs for EWS/LIG households respectively. Now the CLSS scheme has been extended to MIG - I/MIG -II categories with annual household income up to Rs 12.00 Lakh/Rs 18.00 Lacs respectively. A land bank is being generated for taking up more projects in future.”
A quick grievance settlement mechanism is being adopted in the organization in order to make it more beneficiary friendly. On the progress of under-construction projects, Shri Singh said that CGEWHO has completed the works at Mohali Phase II project and has made steadily progressed at its landmark project at Greater Noida. The works are being periodically supervised by IIT Roorkee.
As much as 33 lac Sqft of the built-up area is being constructed in a multi-storey configuration as an ultra-modern housing complex. Important environmental protection necessities like Solar Energy usage, Organic Waste Management, Rainwater harvesting, development of green belt and facilities like Health Care, Education, and Convenient Shopping for residents are being provided to fulfil the aspirations of nearly 10,000 populace. CGEWHO has also started construction work at Chennai Ph-II. CGEWHO is also coming up with projects in SAS Nagar, Meerut & Vishakhapatnam in near future.
Shri Singh said,“CGEWHO is committed to providing good quality, ensuring speedy construction, maintaining transparency and giving value for money.”
“Customer care and service is the highest priority of our organisation. Our housing complexes are being planned with specifications comparable to reputed builders, at a much lower cost,” he added.
Shri Singh further said that the organisation has learned a lot with the passage of time. Due to the scarcity of land from govt sources, PPP mode of turnkey projects is the only option left with it.
