CIL organised the 20th Meeting of National Dust Prevention Committee
Representatives from the Safety & Rescue Department of CIL Hq. & its subsidiaries, Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), NLC (India) Ltd., Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL), and other companies, attended the meeting.
KOLKATA: Shri. Binay Dayal, Director - Technical, CIL chaired the 20th meeting of the National Dust Prevention Committee (NDPC) at CIL’s corporate office in Kolkata.
Representatives from the Safety & Rescue Department of CIL Hq. & its subsidiaries, Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), NLC (India) Ltd., Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL), and other companies, attended the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri. Dayal briefly elucidated on the need for sustainable mining and the role of effective dust management in and around coal mining areas, to attain sustainability. He also highlighted the steps taken by coal companies for First Mile Connectivity (FMC) & construction of railway lines to minimize road transportation of coal.
Continuous ambient air quality monitoring, role of water management for prevention and suppression of dust, scientific studies & research on dust control were discussed in the meeting. Various suggestions for betterment of dust control management in the coal companies were also mooted at the meeting.
