Course Completion and Prize Distribution Ceremony at SCI
Munbai: Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. – Maritime Training Institute organized the Course Completion & Prize Distribution Ceremony on 08th July, 2017 at MTI Powai campus for IMU Batch 37, 38 and GME-04 batch. Capt. Anoop Sharma, CMD was the chief Guest of the function, and Capt. B. B. Sinha, Director (P&A) was the Guest of Honour.
Prizes were distributed to cadets for excellence in academics, sports and various other competitive categories, along with passing certificates. CMD congratulated and asked the cadets to put more focus on projects, creative thinking, discipline and representation at MTI and on-board the vessel. He further assured the full support of SCI management in maintaining MTI as centre of excellence for building the nation as advanced seafaring nation.
Director (P&A) congratulated the cadets for the achievements and informed that their waiting time for on-board training has been reduced to one month. He urged the cadets to clear their MOT exams expeditiously and report to SCI for joining the ships. He shared his vision of making MTI as the full green campus, and self-sustaining. Facilities at MTI to be increased shortly, such as Wi-Fi and CCTV.
Capt. Philip Mathews, Principal MTI informed about the awards won by MTI– Gateway Award and Samudra Manthan Award. He also announced the commencement of functional course for Second Mate (F.G.) and Refresher & Upgradation course for MEO Class-IV shortly at Powai campus of SCI-MTI. Principal MTI thanked all the attendees and wished all the success to the cadets and Godspeed.
