CSL carried out passing out parade of the 46th batch of GME’s
New Delhi: Cochin Shipyard Limited's Marine Engineering Training Institute CSL METI, carried out the passing out parade of the 46th batch of GME’s. There were 40 GME’s who participated in the function. Mr Sajan P.T, DGM Elegant Ship Management was the chief guest for the function. Mr Subash A.K GM(HR) CSL and Mr A Vettriselvan DGM(TI&METI) CSL attended the function. Most of the GME’s have been sponsored for their on board ship training by Elegant Ship Management, UTL, Sima Marine, Tisha Ship Management, Eastaway Ship Management and Oceanic Marine Services.
Cochin Shipyard Limited's Marine Engineering Training Institute is entering its thirtieth year of pre-sea training for graduate engineers. Since 1993, more than 3000 Marine Engineers have been trained and are serving in different parts of the world.
As part of METI's growth, a new training institute with modern facilities was built in 2021 at, Cochin Shipyard Limited - Marine Engineering Training Institute, Vigyana Sagar, Giri Nagar and dedicated to the nation by Hon. Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi on February 14, 2021.
METI has approval to train 114 GME’s in a year and the training is approved by Directorate General of Shipping (DGS). The intake is carried out twice a year, in January and August.
