Defence Ministry inks Rs 329.87 cr contract with BEML
The development of MMME for the Indian Army enables significant advancement in ensuring the safety of military personnel.
Bengaluru: The Ministry of Defence, Govt of India, has signed a contract on January 04, 2024, at Delhi, with a major Defence PSU – BEML Ltd – of Rs 329.87 crore to procure 56 numbers of Mechanical Minefield Marking Equipment (MMME) Mark-II, under Buy (Indian-IDDM) category, in order to enhance defence capabilities and ensuring the safety of military personnel in border areas.
BEML's role in manufacturing MMME, under the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, not only strengthens the national defense infrastructure but also promotes domestic manufacturing and technological self-sufficiency.

This feature enhances its versatility, making it suitable for deployment in various operational environments. The other major feature of full load capacity ensures that the MMME can carry all necessary supplies while performing minefield marking operations.

With improving the speed and effectiveness of minefield marking, the MMME contributes to enhancing the overall operational capability of the Indian Army.
The MMME, based on an in-service High Mobility Vehicle with advanced mechanical and electrical systems, leverages into existing platforms to enhance reliability, familiarity, and maintenance efficiency. The advanced systems contribute to the overall effectiveness of the equipment.
