Delhi University to Get New Academic Building Soon
The academic building for the Faculty of Technology is being executed by NBCC at a total cost of Rs 195.65 crore.
New Delhi: In line with the expansion efforts of Delhi University, the "Bhoomi Pujan Ceremony" for the construction of a new academic building for the Faculty of Technology of the University was held on 14.02.2024 at the North Campus of Delhi University. This prestigious program was graced by the Honorable Vice Chancellor of Delhi University, Prof. Yogesh Singh, Shri K.P. Mahadevaswami, CMD, NBCC and Shri Salim Ahmed, Director (Projects), NBCC. Besides, other senior officials of both organizations were also present in this program.
The academic building for the Faculty of Technology is being executed by NBCC at a total cost of Rs 195.65 crore. The total area of ??the new building will be approximately 285000 square feet. This building will be a state-of-the-art building which will have classrooms, laboratories, workshops, an office of the Head of the Department, an office of professor and allied staff, an administrative and finance office, a multipurpose hall etc.
Emphasizing the commitment towards sustainability, this academic building project aims to have a 3-star GRIHA-rated building. Notable sustainable features include greywater recycling for landscape irrigation and flushing, passive design strategies, solar photovoltaic energy production and a rainwater harvesting system. Additionally, barrier-free circulation will be ensured in the said academic building to make the building accessible to all

Along with the academic building for the Faculty of Technology, NBCC is also executing the construction of the Academic Building for the Institute of Eminence and the new hostel building, the total cost of which is approximately Rs. It is Rs 650 crore.
This new academic building symbolizes the University's commitment to innovation, sustainability and providing advanced learning environments for its students and faculty.
