BEL CSR initiative: District Govt Hospital Machilipatnam gets CT Scan facility
The BEL Management sanctioned an amount of Rs. 1.7 Crores towards the procurement of 32 slices CT scan equipment for the hospital from its CSR Funds.
New Delhi: The new advanced CT Scan facility which has been set up at the District Government Hospital, Machilipatnam, using Rs. 1.7 Crores donated by Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) from its CSR Funds was inaugurated today at a grand function held in Machilipatnam.
Machilipatnam is a city in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. It is a municipal corporation and the administrative headquarters of Krishna district. The District Govt Hospital of Machilipatnam caters to the requirements of all the villages of the revenue division. Being the only major hospital in the town many poor and needy people are totally dependent on this hospital. However, the District Govt Hospital lacked the basic facility of a CT Scan.
The BEL Management sanctioned an amount of Rs. 1.7 Crores towards the procurement of 32 slices CT scan equipment for the hospital from its CSR Funds.
The new facility will help the hospital in catering to the health requirements of around 3 Lakh villagers.
The inaugural function was graced by many dignitaries including Mrs Anandi Ramalingam, CMD, BEL, Mr M V Rajasekhar Director (R&D), Mr Bhanu Prakash Shrivastava, Director (OU), Mr B Prabhakar Rao, GM, BEL-Machilipatnam, Mr Balashowry Vallabhaneni, Hon'ble MP, Machilipatnam, and Chairman, Committee on Subordinate Legislation ( Lok Sabha), Mr Perni Venkataramaiah, Hon’ble MLA, Machilipatnam, Mr P Ranjit Basha, I.A.S.,
Collector & District Magistrate, Krishna District, Mrs Moka Venkateswaramma, Hon’ble Mayor, Machilipatnam Municipal Corporation, Mrs T Kavitha, Hon’ble Deputy Mayor, Sri Lanka Suribabu, Hon’ble Deputy Mayor, hospital staff and the general public numbering around 300.
