DMRC bags 4th India Green Energy Award

This award, received in a function on Wednesday recognizes DMRC’s exceptional efforts & significant contributions to the advancement of Green Energy in India.

DMRC bags 4th India Green Energy Award

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has received the prestigious 4th India Green Energy Award in the 'Outstanding Green Energy Consumer/User-Industrial/Commercial' category. The award was presented by Sh. Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Govt of India. Dr. Pramit Kumar Garg, Director Business Development, DMRC and Shri S.A. Verma Executive Director, Environment, DMRC received the award.

This award, received in a function on Wednesday recognizes DMRC’s exceptional efforts & significant contributions to the advancement of Green Energy in India. As part of its environmental responsibility, DMRC draws 50 MW of solar energy through installations in elevated stations & depots, , nearly 99 MW solar energy from an offsite solar plant located at REWA.

About 34% of energy requirements are now met by offsite & onsite solar energy.

DMRC was the first railway project in the world to register its carbon credits with UNFCCC as it has successfully demonstrated 17 Million tonnes CO2 emission reduction since its inception. So far, carbon credits worth nearly Rs 30 crore have been sold.
