ECL starts new highwall mining projects
Highwall mining may prove to be a game changer for the gainful extraction of high-grade coal in ECL, BCCL and CCL.
New Delhi: Eastern Coalfields Limited has started Narayankudi high wall mining project at its Kunustoria Area in Paschim Bardhaman, West Bengal. This is the second high wall mining project of ECL after the Nimcha Project. The project will help ECL produce 1.69 million tonnes of additional coal in the next four years.
Using highwall mining method, CIL is looking forward to unlocking the reserves stranded in the opencast mines that were discontinued after reaching a limited stripping ratio.
Highwall mining may prove to be a game changer for the gainful extraction of high-grade coal in ECL, BCCL and CCL. This mining method is also eco-friendly as it helps extract coal without blasting.
