Visakhapatnam : Mr Neeraj Sarda, Chairman, CII Andhra Pradesh emphasized on the need to focus on fire preventive measures. He urged all industries to follow the safety norms stringently and put efforts to eliminate human and material losses. He lauded the efforts of AP State Disaster Response and Fire Services Department for introducing regulatory reforms in this area.
Mr DVS Narayana Raju, Convenor, CII AP CSR, Environment and Water Panel set the context for the seminar.
Mr Ragam Kishore, Chairman, CII Visakhapatnam in his address stressed the need to have state of the art burn care centers in the industrial centers.

Mr Pratap Madireddy, IPS, Director General, AP State Disaster Response and Fire Services Dept, Govt of AP in his virtual address spoke on the salient features of the revised regulatory norms in terms of fire NOC’s. He requested participants to read the revised notifications and get acquainted with the new rules.
He stated his department is bringing many reforms for every sector with the objective of simplifying the process of obtaining NOC’s and eliminating the age old elaborate procedures.
Mr B Ravi Kumar, Deputy Controller of Explosives, Petroleum & Explosive Safety Organisation (PESO), gave a brief description of the various Petroleum & Explosive Acts. He spoke about the causes of explosions in industries and the preventive measures to curtail the explosions.
Mr Phani Varma, Director & Consultant, Center for Health, Safety & Environment; Mr VB Shritharan, Director (Corporate Engineering & Process Safety), Deccan Fine Chemicals India Pvt Ltd, Mr B Ravi Kumar, Deputy Controller of Explosives, Petroleum & Explosive Safety Organisation (PESO) and Mr MSV Krishnaiah, Chief General Manager – Safety & Environment, RINL also spoke in the seminar.
