GAIL gets extension for completing Kochi-Bengaluru-Mangaluru gas pipeline

New delhi . GAIL (India) has won a second extension for completing the Kochi- Bengaluru-Mangaluru natural gas pipeline as it faces unprecedented problems in getting land in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. 
 
Oil regulator Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) last week gave GAIL four more years till February 2019 to complete the 1104-km Kochi-Koottanad-Bengaluru-Mangaluru natural gas pipeline. The Rs 4,493-crore project was originally to be completed in March 2013. 
 
GAIL (India) is India’s principal Natural Gas Company with activities ranging from Gas Transmission and Marketing to Processing (for fractionating LPG, Propane, SBP Solvent and Pentane); transmission of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG); production and marketing of Petrochemicals like HDPE and LLDPE and leasing bandwidth in Telecommunications.
