New Delhi: The Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) was held at NTPC Kanti, which commenced on 25th April 2024, and concluded on 19th May 2024. The month-long initiative aimed to promote the skills and talents of young girls from neighbouring villages, with 40 participants from 8 schools taking part.
The closing ceremony of the Girl Empowerment Mission was graced by Shri Madhu S., Head of the Project, who commended the initiative and the remarkable talent displayed by the girls. Various cultural programs were performed, including dances, dramas, and more, showcasing the enthusiasm and hard work of the participants.
The program began with a traditional worship of Lord Ganesh, setting a spiritual tone for the cultural performances that followed. The GEM girls presented captivating dances and engaging dramas at the closing ceremony, leaving the audience in awe of their talent and dedication. The guests in attendance were impressed by the girls' performances and lauded their efforts.

The girls received training in self-improvement, personality development, skill enhancement, music, dance, and self-defence, empowering them with essential life skills.
Addressing the girls, the Head of the Project expressed admiration for the initiative and praised NTPC Kanti for instilling confidence in the participants. He encouraged the girls to return to their villages with heightened self-assurance, confident that they would bring honour to their families and communities.

The event was attended by Shri Manoj Sinha, GM (C&M/TS), and senior officials from NTPC, demonstrating their support for the girls' achievements and commitment to empowering young women.
The Girl Empowerment Mission at NTPC Kanti was a resounding success, celebrating the talents and potential of 40 young girls and equipping them for a brighter future.
