HAL resumes normal ops with staggered
Bengaluru: Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) resumed normal operations with staggered shifts in this aerospace hub, the defence PSU said on Friday. The company has also designed and developed a pedal-based hands-free sanitizer dispenser for hygiene at work place and on shop floor.
“We have distributed masks and gloves to all the employees and made wearing them mandatory. Their work places and tools are disinfected. Hand sanitisers are kept at entry and common areas in offices/workplaces,” said the statement. Thermal screening for body temperature of all employees is done at the entry points.
“We have an IT platform for video conferencing and online applications (e-filing) to minimise physical interaction. Health advisories and posters on hygiene practices are put up at various locations,” said the official.
The 55-year-old aerospace major has about 20,000 employees in 5 production complexes in Bengaluru in Karnataka, Hyderabad in Telangana, Koraput in Odisha, Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh and Nashik in Maharashtra and 4 research and development (R&D) centres across the country. About 10,000 employees work in the company’s Bengaluru production complex and the remaining in eight locations across the country.
