NEW DELHI- Shri C.R. Das, HOP, Teesta-V Power Station & Teesta-IV Hydroelectric Project along with other officials of NHPC met with Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, Hon'ble Minister of State, Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India at Raj Bhavan, Gangtok on 11.07.2022.
Shri C.R. Das briefed the Hon'ble Minister about the background and present status of Teesta-IV HEP and elaborated the pending issues pertaining to Project.
Hon'ble Minister keenly listened all the issues and expressed his desire for the coming up of Teesta-IV Project.
Hon'ble Minister also instructed the local leaders who had present during the meeting to take up the matter with District Administration and also to aware the local people about the benefits (direct as well as indirect) of the Project.
He also told them to take all possible steps for compliance of Forest Rights Act, 2006 so that the Forest Clearance Stage-II could be accorded. Hon’ble Minister assured for all possible support from his end for Teesta-IV HE Project.
