New Delhi: Mr. S M Vaidya, Chairman, Indian Oil yesterday interacted with India's top Badminton stars. While interacting with them he said, "The magic of sports has always brought out the best of human courage, resilience and hope. And yesterday, I was up close with the ace Badminton wizards of India.; the Thomas Cup Champions and the brilliant Deaflympian shuttlers.
The Indian National Badminton team clinched the Thomas Cup recently, against incredible odds and listening to the fascinating anecdotes from the stars themselves was pretty special. He interacted with the team's captain K Srikant and other stars including H S Prannoy, Satwik Sairaj Ranki Reddy, Chirag Shetty, M R Arjun, Vishnu Vardhan Goud, Druv Kapila and Priyanshu Rajawat.
He said, their achievement is historic but what stood out is how humble they are in success. I am confident that their talent, combined with humility, will propel them toward even more extraordinary feats. It was also an honour to felicitate the Champion Coach, another IndianOil sporting legend, and 2001 All England Winner, Pullela Gopichand, who has been reshaping India's badminton landscape with his inspiring mentorship.
