IndianOil signs MoU between SDMC and NTPC
New Delhi: The signing of this MoU between Indian Oil, SDMC and NTPC who shall come together and develop a demonstration Waste-to-energy Plant at Okhla landfill site in Delhi using Gasification technology. This Plant shall process 17500 tons per annum of Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) produced from combustible components of Municipal Waste to generate syngas which shall in turn be used to generate electricity. - Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas & Steel, Government of India.
Witnessed the signing of MoU between Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. , NTPC Limited & SDMC Official for the development of waste-to- energy facilities at Okhla landfill site in the presence of Hon. Lt. Gov Delhi, Shri Anil Baijal, Min. Shri Raj Kumar Singh and officials of Ministry of Power, Government of India & Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India
The landmark facility will help in proper management of municipal solid waste MSW, generation of alternate energy, including electricity, ethanol and Syngas, reduction in GHG emission and creation of economic and employment opportunities in the waste-to-energy value chain.
